Calusarus from St Sorlin en Valloire, FranceVery unusal shot : the beginning of a modern fairy tale. 21 Nov 2008 5:43pm Steve Rice from Olympia, United StatesYou have a good eye for the details of life. That building looks as though it may have been a castle of commerce at one time. But to be ejected from it at this point seems somewhat tragic. This is a longwinded way of saying I like your vision and this image. 21 Nov 2008 7:23pm Ronnie 2¢ from London, United KingdomEverything in this looks to have seen better days but there is always a sadness about scattered possessions . . they are like frayed lives : repairable but never quite the same. 21 Nov 2008 9:16pm Andrew Gould from Sydney, AustraliaAs everyone's saying, Emily, this does tell a litttle story, and for me, it's about an aspect of modern living. This is, indeed, very well seen. The composition is perfect and the light is interesting, too. Very strong and contrasty, and I like how the trolley's out in the light and that there's the barest detail visible in the shadow area of the building entrance. The latter adds to the mystery of the building for me. Funny seeing this photo fo yours, as I've been walking around my neighbourhood lately, looking at all the abandoned shopping trolleys, and thinking of using them as a subject. Also interesting that my latest photo that you've recently commented on is in the same area. 22 Nov 2008 12:40am bluechameleon from Vancouver, CanadaHmmm well this does seem to tell a story or two. It makes me wonder what went on behind that closed door before this shot was taken. Great eye Emily...excellent shot and intrigue felt here. 22 Nov 2008 4:38am |
